Diary, 1894-1895.

Manuscript diary in ink and pencil, bound, kept by Clara Marion Heath during the final months before her 1894 graduation from Denver High School in Denver, Colorado, and during her first year at the Lasell Female Seminary in Auburndale, Massachusetts. The diary begins on April 29, 1894, and consists of short entries noting Clara Heath's school and social affairs, including her interactions with other young people, school dances, and preparations for graduation. Heath's comments continue throughout the summer, describing daily life as well as a trip to Idaho and a camping excursion. Entries are omitted from August 9 to September 19, resuming to note Heath's arrival at Lasell. Entries during the next year note Heath's initiation into "the S.D.", a secret society; school field trips; and various lectures and amusements. Diary concludes on June 12, 1895, the day of Lasell Seminary's commencement exercises, with Heath noting she is returning home.
